Canada may be the two-time reigning Olympic men’s hockey champion, but it hasn’t won a World title since 2009.
Captain Sidney Crosby and Co. can change that this weekend, starting with a semifinal against host Czech Republic in Prague on Saturday, streamed on NBC Sports Live Extra at 9 a.m. ET.
Canada has been the dominant nation at Worlds, winning all eight of its games by a combined 44-goal margin. Dallas Stars forwards Jason Spezza and Tyler Seguin lead the tournament with 13 points and eight goals, respectively.
The Czechs, meanwhile, are looking for the first global championship medal since 2012.
