Walsh Jennings, Ross dominant in straight set beach volleyball victory

Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross took on China’s Wang Fan and Yue Yuan in their second pool play beach volleyball match late Monday night, and the expectation was that the Chinese tandem would pose some sort of challenge to the Americans.

That was the case in the first set, but Walsh Jennings and Ross went on a 16-4 run in the second set to win by the final score of 21-16, 21-9. Combined the United States racked up 15 digs, with 12 being credited to Ross, and in the second set they were dominant in moving to 2-0 in the competition.
