As Kaylyn Brown received the baton in the mixed 4x400m relay qualifying, she was in prime position to secure a spot in the final.
She did just that and even more as she dashed to the finish line and set a new world record for her team in the event.
Brown and the U.S. finished with a time of 3:07.42, knocking off the previous world record of 3:08.80. The previous Olympic record time was 3:09.87.
