Vashti Cunningham, the 18-year-old daughter of former NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham, became the youngest woman to win a World Indoor Track and Field title, prevailing in the high jump on Sunday.
Cunningham, a high school senior on spring break, captured gold with a 1.96-meter clearance in her first global championship meet.
“I believe I’m going to be turning pro,” Cunningham, who has said since January she’s been wanting to turn pro, said on NBCSN on Sunday.
Cunningham is now favored to make the Olympic team at the Olympic trials in Eugene, Ore.
