The U.S. Olympic Committee is reconnecting with Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., about interest in pursuing a 2024 Olympic bid and hopes to resolve its replacement for Boston’s dropped bid by the end of August, USOC chairman Larry Probst told The Associated Press.
Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., were three of four finalists for the original U.S. bid for the 2024 Olympics, losing to Boston in a Jan. 8 announcement.
“We’ve got to determine what their level of interest is in pursuing a bid and take that feedback and gather our board together and discuss that feedback with our board and make a decision,” Probst said at an International Olympic Committee session in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, according to the AP.
