USA’s Evan Jager now has the second-best Olympic time in steeplechase 3000m history, which is awesome. He also has the second-best time in this year’s Final.
Jager ran an 8:04.28, bettering the 28-year-old record of Kenya’s Julius Kariuki by more than a second.
But the record is staying in Kenya, as Conseslus Kipruto ran 8:03.28 to smash the mark and take gold.
