RIO DE JANEIRO — Claressa Shields beat Nouchka Fontijn of the Netherlands by unanimous decision for her second Olympic gold medal on Sunday.
She is the first American boxer to win back-to-back golds at the Olympics. She won the women's middleweight (75 kilograms) division.
Shields, 21, who grew up in Flint, Mich., also beat Fontijin back in May to win her second consecutive world championship.
