Usain Bolt will be followed by cameras, reportedly starting in May, to film a feature-length documentary for theatrical release about his preparations for the Rio 2016 Olympics and his planned 2017 retirement.
British filmmakers Fulwell 73 will make the film, which will also look back at his career that’s included six Olympic gold medals and world records in the 100m and 200m sprints.
Directors Gabe and Ben Turner previously directed “The Class of ’92,” a 2013 documentary on Manchester United, Bolt’s favorite soccer team.
“When I met Gabe and Ben and heard about their previous work, I felt they would be the right people to tell my story and capture my journey to Rio 2016,” Bolt said in a press release.
