Five star U.S. women’s soccer players have filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission seeking equal pay with their male counterparts.
U.S. Olympic champions Carli Lloyd, Hope Solo, Alex Morgan and Becky Sauerbrunn appeared on TODAY to discuss the move Thursday morning. Megan Rapinoe was also involved in the complaint.
U.S. women are paid between $3,600 and $4,950 per game, while men receive $6,250 to $17,625. Women receive 44 percent of what their male counterparts earn for making the World Cup team, according to TODAY, citing the complaint.
