Now that the U.S. women’s 2018 Olympic hockey roster has been announced, the 23 players are ready to help answer the big question.
Why haven’t American women won an Olympic gold medal since 1998?
“That is the age-old question that everyone loves to ask,” U.S. captain Meghan Duggan said. “We’ve heard that a lot.”
That question has become more relevant since the 2014 Sochi Olympics because the USA has won a gold medal in seven of the last eight World Championships.
The U.S. women clearly understand what it takes to topple Canada, which makes it perplexing that the USA's archrival has won the last four Olympic gold medals.
