Simone Biles won her third straight world gymnastics title, besting Gabrielle Douglas, the reigning Olympic champion and a fellow American, in the all-around final in Glasgow and cementing herself as the favorite to top the podium at the Rio Games.
Biles overcame a near fall on the balance beam and a step out of bounds in the floor exercise to post a score of 60.399 points, more than a point ahead of Douglas and the bronze medalist, Larisa Iordache of Romania.
