The five-woman U.S. Olympic women’s artistic gymnastics team will be named after the Olympic Trials, live on NBC and the NBC Sports app from San Jose, Calif., on Friday and Sunday nights.
The all-around winner after two days of competition will clinch one of those five spots. The massive favorite is Simone Biles, who hasn’t lost an all-around in more than three years.
After that, a selection committee will decide the other four gymnasts. Favorites following the P&G Championships from June include 2012 Olympic champions Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman and Laurie Hernandez, a 16-year-old who finished third in the all-around at P&Gs behind Biles and Raisman.
