U.S. Olympic champ Simone Manuel wants to do more than talk about racism

Olympic champion Simone Manuel knows her experiences and opinions carry weight in conversations about racism and diversity.

But a conversation needs more than just one person talking.

In an interview for the Changing the Game podcast, Manuel spoke about the importance of athletes – all athletes – using their platforms to call out injustices, and pointed to the missed opportunities there have been in the past. Racism is a societal problem yet, too often, it’s only Black and brown people who are asked to address it.

“I don't ever feel annoyed about answering the question because I do think that it is important to talk about.
