Olympians Chris Mazdzer and Tucker West notched the first American one-two at men’s luge World Cup event in Lake Placid, N.Y., on Friday.
Mazdzer, a two-time Olympian, prevailed by .033 of a second over West after two runs for his first non-sprint World Cup victory.
West, a Sochi Olympian, won in Lake Placid last year, snapping an American men’s drought since 1997.
German Felix Loch, the winner of the last two Olympics, led after the first run but hit a wall in the second, falling to sixth.
