Two-time U.S. figure skating champion Gracie Gold has withdrawn from the 2018 championships, U.S. Figure Skating announced Friday.
Gold, who won the 2014 and 2016 championship and was a bronze medalist in the team event at the Sochi Games in 2014, is receiving professional treatment for an eating disorder, anxiety and depression.
Gold announced in September that she was sitting out the Grand Prix season, saying in a statement: "It saddens me deeply to sit out this Grand Prix Series, but I know it is for the best. I am currently in treatment for depression, anxiety and an eating disorder.
