LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — A Turkish boxer has been provisionally suspended after his doping sample from the 2012 London Olympics came back positive in retesting.
The International Boxing Association says Adem Kilicci tested positive for steroids. The fighter and the Turkish boxing federation have been notified of the findings and his suspension.
Kilici lost in the quarterfinals of the 75-kilogram division in London.
The IOC has retested stored samples from London and the 2008 Beijing Games, targeting athletes who could compete in this year's Rio de Janeiro Olympics. AIBA said Kilici had qualified for Rio.
AIBA says it is working with the World Anti-Doping Agency "to ensure that boxing is doping free.
