PYEONGCHANG, South Korea — Big air snowboarders will help close out the Pyeongchang Olympics with a flurry of triple corks.
The men’s final comes on Saturday, the final day of competition here, and if qualifying was any indication, ii is shaping up to be a party of the sport’s most spectacular tricks.
Since Sochi, where slopestyle made its debut, Olympic audiences have gotten to see some of those. But big air, which is riders doing their best tricks off one jump, can provide an awe-inspiring show.
“It’s definitely progressing with more flips and more spins,” said Kyle Mack, one of three Americans to advance to the final.
