The best and worst of these Olympics was on display Friday at the Tokyo Aquatic Center.
The good? Three more medals for Team USA, two silvers and a bronze courtesy of Ryan Murphy, Lilly King and Annie Lazor, respectively.
Though they didn't get the gold in the women's 200-meter breaststroke — that went to South Africa's Tatjana Schoenmaker in a world-record performance — King and Lazor displayed the sportsmanship and joy that make the Olympics special.
The bad? The controversy surrounding Russia's presence — officially the Russian Olympic Committee's presence — at these Games in the wake of the country's doping scandal.
