Tina Maze hasn’t announced it yet, but the Alpine skier indicated Wednesday that she’s leaning toward not racing again, according to Slovenian media reports.
“I’ve known for a while what I will be doing … if I don’t have the right competitive energy I cannot lie I have it,” she told Slovenian TV, according to the Slovenia Times.
Maze, a 32-year-old with two Olympic golds and four World titles, decided after last season to take one season off from the World Cup tour and then decide if she will return.
“After 16 long and successful seasons, practicing all disciplines, I feel that my body and my mind need a longer rest than usual,” Maze said in May on her website.
