Slovenian Alpine skier Tina Maze announced her retirement plans Thursday, nearly 19 months after the two-time Sochi Olympic champion’s most recent race, according to European media.
Maze, 33, said she would race for the last time at a World Cup stop in Maribor, Slovenia, from Jan. 7-8, according to European media.
Maze had taken the 2015-16 season off but left open the possibility of returning this season.
