Beat Feuz gave the host nation its second gold medal of the World Alpine Skiing Championships, taking the men’s downhill in St. Moritz, Switzerland, on Sunday.
Feuz, 30, notched by far the biggest win of his career by .12 of a second over Canadian Erik Guay, a 35-year-old who won the super-G on Wednesday. Austrian Max Franz earned bronze.
“My feeling was good,” this morning, Feuz said.
All three medalists started after the first dozen skiers as weather conditions improved. Pre-race favorite Kjetil Jansrud of Norway and Swiss Patrick Kueng, the 2015 World champ, tied for fourth after starting Nos.
