St. Louis Marathon disqualifies woman who crossed finish line first

The first woman to cross the finish line of the St. Louis Marathon was disqualified Sunday after officials figured out about 20 minutes later she didn’t run the whole course, according to St. Louis reports.

Kendall Schler clocked 2 hours, 50 minutes, 30 seconds, according to St. Louis NBC affiliate KSDK. She stopped for a photo with six-time Olympic track and field medalist Jackie Joyner-Kersee and quickly disappeared.

Race officials couldn’t find Schler’s time going through course checkpoints, and she did not provide proof of her full participation when asked by an official.
