South Korea’s Park wins first Olympic women’s golf gold in 116 years

South Korea’s Inbee Park has claimed the second gold medal in Olympic women’s golf history.

Park put a cherry on top of her brilliant week in Brazil by firing her third 66 of the tournament. Add in her third-round 70, and you have a 16-under first place finish.

The world’s No. 5 golfer, Park held off No. 1 for gold. New Zealand’s Lydia Ko shot 69 on Sunday to finish five strokes back of gold.

China’s Shanshan Feng took bronze, a stroke better than Japan’s Haruyko Nomura and USA golfer Stacy Lewis (9-under).
