Snowboarding takes its final turn at the Winter Olympics on Tuesday, when both men and women compete in the finals of big air at Shougang Park, on a giant jump built on an industrial site on the western edge of Beijing.
The events will feature the gold medalists from slopestyle, a bit of an older sibling to big air. While slopestyle features a long run of obstacles, rails and jumps, big air is one giant jump with spins and flips. Everyone who qualified for the Olympic slopestyle contest also gained entry in big air.
Competitors have three jumps each, judged by a panel, and the top two scores are added to determine the winner.
