Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce wins 100m; U.S. runner loses bronze with early celebration

Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce repeated in the World Championships 100m, while American Tori Bowie earned bronze in Beijing on Monday night.

The race to determine the world’s fastest woman culminated a night at the Bird’s Nest that also saw an American celebrate too early in the 10,000m and give up bronze to another American.

In the 100m final, Fraser-Pryce clocked 10.76 seconds with yellow flowers on her forehead, long green hair running down her back and raising her arm before crossing the finish.

She will share the podium with the Netherlands’ Dafne Schippers (10.
