Sarah Hirshland took over as chief executive of the United States Olympic Committee at a fraught time. The organization was reeling from heavy criticism over its response, or its lack of one, to the sexual abuse accusations against Lawrence G. Nassar, then a team doctor for U.S.A. Gymnastics.

Hirshland began the discussion by highlighting four key areas.
