USA Swimming and the United States Olympic Committee have suspended swimmer Ryan Lochte after he lied about being robbed at gunpoint in Rio de Janeiro during the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Christine Brennan of USA Today reported the news. The organizations will make an official joint announcement Thursday, per USA Today's Nicole Auerbach. Jimmy Feigen,Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger will also receive undetermined punishments.
TMZ reported Lochte's suspension will last 10 months, while USA Today's Auerbach and Christine Brennan noted he'll also not be allowed to compete at the 2017 World Championships in July.
