OMAHA — Ryan Lochte is likely Rio-bound.
Lochte finished fourth in the men’s 200-meter freestyle final here at the U.S. Olympic trials, likely good enough for a relay spot in Rio.
Townley Haas and Conor Dwyer finished in the top two to qualify for the individual event.
Lochte failed to qualify in the 400-meter individual medley — the event in which he’s the reigning Olympic gold medalist — on Sunday night. He said afterward he had pulled his groin muscle during the breaststroke portion of his 400 IM preliminary swim, yet opted to compete in the final anyway amid pain.
