Olympic sprinter Ryan Bailey missed U.S. Bobsled national team selection races this week due to a back injury and was not named to the team but is still expected to compete later this season.
Bailey, who finished fifth in the 100m at the London Games, won the preseason push championships in September in his first foray into bobsled. That made him a favorite for one of about a dozen push athlete spots on the national team.
But Bailey’s injury and absence from this week’s selection races took him out of the running. The World Cup season begins in Whistler, B.
