Russia's repeated denials on doping fit Putin's narrative, experts say

Faced with a decision last month on whether the World Anti-Doping Agency would restore the Russian Anti-Doping Agency’s compliant status with the world anti-doping code, the sport minister said Russia had done “everything possible” to be declared compliant.

Ultimately, WADA did not reinstate RUSADA, a decision based in large part on a failure of Russian officials to publicly accept the findings of a WADA commission report that uncovered a state-sponsored system of doping in the country.
