RIO DE JANEIRO — Darya Klishina is a one-woman team and doesn’t particularly like it that way, but it’s better than joining the rest of Russian track and field as an Olympic pariah.
Klishina, a long jump specialist with an outside chance for an Olympic medal, was allowed to compete on Tuesday night after a complicated process that eventually saw her escape the blanket ban international athletics chiefs levied on her country.
The 25-year-old, who has spent the last five years living and training in Florida since signing with sports agency IMG, recorded a best jump of 6.
