Evidence of a systemic drug culture in Russia’s swimming federation could strengthen calls for a World Anti-Doping Agency investigation similar to one released in November that showed state-sponsored doping in the country’s track federation, according to a report from TheTimes in the United Kingdom.
A report from the paper on Wednesday said its investigation revealed “evidence of an organised drugs culture” in swimming.
The participation of Russia’s track and field athletes in the Rio Olympics remains in question. They were banned from international competition in November after WADA’s report was released.
