Léon Marchand’s path to four golds began with the 400 individual medley, his best event. He grew his lead on the breaststroke leg, as the crowd roared each time he came up for a breath. He broke the Olympic record set by Michael Phelps in 2008. Race is shown at 5x speed.

A 3-D animation shows eight little swimmers with arms and legs moving them across pool lanes in the 200-meter butterfly. The race is completed in four laps. The flags of each country follow the swimmers. Lu00e9on Marchand of France won gold with a time of 1:51.21, Kristu00f3f Milu00e1k of Hungary won silver, and Ilya Kharun of Canada won bronze.

In the 200 butterfly, Léon Marchand trailed at the final turn. But in the final 50 meters, he used his underwater dolphin kicks and the energy of the crowd to surge past the world-record holder, the Hungarian Kristóf Milák. Race is shown at 5x speed.
