Quebec City mayor talks with other cities for joint 2026 Olympic bid

The mayor of Quebec City has talked with Calgary, Vancouver and Lake Placid officials about a joint 2026 Winter Olympic bid, according to the Canadian Press.

Mayor Régis Labeaume will meet with International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach on April 11 to discuss Olympic Agenda 2020, the reforms passed in December 2014 that include more encouragement of Olympic bids involving multiple cities and, in exceptional cases, events held outside the host country.

That meeting will also include exploring the possibility of a 2026 Winter Olympic bid involving Quebec City, according to the Canadian Press.
