Peter Sagan wins another Tour de France stage in sprinters’ absence

Peter Sagan took advantage of the absence of star sprinters for his third stage win of this year’s Tour de France and his 11th career Tour stage win on Friday.

The three-time world champion from Slovakia came from behind in the Stage 13 bunched sprint to edge Alexander Kristoff and Arnaud Demare.

Sagan boosted his already comfortable lead in the green-jersey standings and is on his way to match Erik Zabel‘s record of six Tour sprint titles.

“Looks like, but it’s still important to come to Paris,” said Sagan, referencing the fact he must finish on the Champs-Élysées on July 29 to wrap it up.
