Oscar Pistorius‘ possible move from prison to house arrest will be decided as early as Sept. 18 by a parole review board, according to South Africa’s eNCA News and Agence France-Presse, the latter quoting an anonymous family spokesman.
Pistorius’ release from prison to house arrest on parole was scheduled for last Friday until a South African court official ruled it premature and “without any legal basis” in a statement.
Pistorius was sentenced Oct. 21 to no more than five years in jail after being found guilty of culpable homicide, but not murder, for shooting and killing girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day 2013.
