Concerns about the Olympic Games in Rio have been flooding-in for months, and optimists about the event were dealt another tough blow on Sunday.
According to a story in the Sidney Morning Herald, officials from the Australian Olympic Committee paid a visit to inspect Olympic Village over the weekend and confirmed that, as of Sunday, the location isn’t ready for their athletes.
It is the AOC’s understanding that the safety issues are to do with amenity. A spokesman said there were issues with leaking pipes, spot flooding, blocked toilets and unlit stairwells, for instance.
