Australia's Kaylee McKeown repeated as the Olympic champion in the women's 100-meter backstroke on Tuesday.
McKeown inched ahead of a three-swimmer pack in the final few meters to remain on top of the Olympic podium in the event.
Americans Regan Smith and Katharine Berkoff finished second and third behind McKeown to add to the United States' massive swimming medal haul.
