Kenya's Eliud Kipchoge made good on his status as the favourite to win the gold in the men's marathon on Sunday, the final day of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Kipchoge finished ahead of Ethiopia's Feyisa Lilesa and Galen Rupp of the United States, the first marathon medal the USA has won in 12 years, per ABC News.
Russia predictably took the gold in the team all-around rhythmic gymnastics competition, while medals will also be available in volleyball, basketball and a host of other sports later on Sunday. Here's a look at the current tally:

Kipchoge left it late to take the gold in the men's marathon, leaving his companions behind in the final kilometers to finish with a time of two hours, eight minutes and 44 seconds.
