A photo from the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, appears to show North Korean short-track speedskater Kwang Bom Jong attempting to trip Japanese opponent Ryosuke Sakazume.
Newsweek provided a look at the incident in question from the 500-meter event:
On Tuesday, Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports noted Sakazume downplayed the situation.
"I believe it was unintentional," he said. "His hand happened to be by my skate as he fell down."
After the first crash during Tuesday's preliminary heat, Jong got disqualified for pushing off Sakazume during the second run after a restart.
