Noah Lyles' victory in the 100m at the 2024 Paris Olympics was far from a landslide.
The American sprinter won the race by a mere 0.004 seconds with a time of 9.79 to secure the victory. While that margin is slim on its own, those 0.004 seconds were the only seconds that he led the race.
Jonathan Gault of LetsRun.com reported that Lyles was in last place at the 40m mark of the race and did not pull away for the victory until the final steps of the race.
