Nike honored Chris Mosier, the first openly trans athlete to earn a spot on a U.S. National Team, in its latest commercial that aired on NBC for the first time on Monday night.
Mosier earned a spot on the Olympic team with his sprint duathlon time of 01:02:45.48 at the National Championships in 2015 and made history earlier this year again when he became the first openly trans athlete to compete in the International Triathlon Union championship
“Being the first trans man on a U.S. men’s national team was a dream come true for me. I always wanted my name on a jersey,” he said in a statement released through Nike.
