NBC to premiere ‘Road to Rio’ documentary on U.S. Paralympic Team

As a prelude to the unprecedented Paralympic coverage that the NBC Sports group will provide from Rio in September, NBC Olympics is set to premiere “Road to Rio: 2016 U.S. Paralympic Team Trials,” chronicling the making of the 2016 U.S. Paralympic Team.

The one-hour special will air July 18 at 11 p.m. ET on NBCSN, and will be narrated by Al Trautwig.

Produced in association with the USOC, U.S. Paralympics and NASCAR Productions, the documentary will feature exclusive access to training sessions and the 2016 U.S. Paralympic Trials. Highlights include interviews with 12-time Paralympic swimming gold medalist Jessica Long, 10-time Paralympic track & field medalist Tatyana McFadden, three-time Paralympic swimming medalist Brad Snyder, three-time Paralympic track & field medalist Lex Gillette, as well as world record-holders Michelle Konkoly and David Brown.
