Muhammad Ali hospitalized with respiratory infection, in fair condition

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali is in fair condition after being hospitalized with a respiratory infection, according to NBC News.

“Ali, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, is being treated by his team of doctors and is in fair condition,” family spokesman Bob Gunnell said in a statement, according to NBC News. “A brief hospital stay is expected. At this time, the Muhammad Ali family respectfully requests privacy.”

This summer marks the 20-year anniversary of Ali’s famous Atlanta Olympic cauldron lighting.

Janet Evans, who passed the Olympic flame to Ali, reflected on that moment last year.
