Brazilian teams finished on top of the podium on both the men’s and women’s sides in the Beach Volleyball World Championships, and will be taking home five out of six medals.
In Sunday’s final in the Hague, the Dutch team of Reinder Nummerdor and Christiaan Varenhorst easily won the first set in front of a crowd that included the Dutch king and queen. But the Brazilians, Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt, rallied to take the next two matches and the title. The final scores were 12-21, 21-14, and 22-20.
