PARK CITY, Utah — The present tense feels more comfortable. The past tense, saying who Steven Holcomb was, reveals the terrible reality his bobsled teammates continue to face.
More than four months since Holcomb died unexpectedly, those teammates are still adjusting to how they individually and collectively move forward from the loss of their leader, their sounding board and their friend.
They’ll be back on the ice next week preparing for the Pyeongchang Olympics without Holcomb, another step forward on a journey he was supposed to lead.
