Los Angeles will host the 2028 Olympics after the city reached a deal with the International Olympic Committee, according to a person with direct knowledge of the negotiations.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the announcement had not been made publicly.
The deal will allow Paris to host the 2024 Games, which had been expected. The Los Angeles Times first reported the deal had been reached.
The IOC paved the way for the historic dual award with a unanimous vote earlier this month to try to reach a deal with the two cities.
