Los Angeles is USOC's candidate for 2024 Olympic bid

Los Angeles, it is.

The U.S. Olympic Committee announced Tuesday that it will bid for the 2024 Summer Games with Los Angeles as the host city. The USOC was forced to turn to the two-time host after widespread public and political opposition doomed its initial choice of Boston.

But the Boston debacle might actually turn out to be the best thing for U.S. hopes to bring the games back to American soil for the first time since 2002.

Los Angeles has hosted two successful Summer Games already, including the 1984 Olympics, considered to be the most financially successful of the modern era.
