London Olympic Park Orbit turned into ‘world’s longest’ tunnel slide

The Orbit, the tall tower-like structure next to London’s Olympic Stadium, is being transformed into “the world’s tallest and longest tunnel slide,” opening to the public June 24.

The slide will start from about 584 feet high, wrap around one side of the Orbit with 12 twists and descend in 40 seconds altogether, ending with a 164-foot straight drop to the bottom, according to plans published last July.

One ride will cost between $20 and $25, cheaper if one books in advance.

Tickets can be purchased here.

In 2014, the Orbit was set to turn gold if England won the World Cup, according to British media.
