With one win apiece entering Sunday, Lily King and Yulia Efimova had their final showdown of the week in the 50m breastroke, and the rubber match went to the American.
King set a new world-record time (29.40 seconds) to claim the world title Sunday in Budapest. Efimova (29.57) wasn’t far behind but was unable to close in and ended up with silver.
U.S. swimmer Katie Meili (29.99) rounded out the podium in third.
